Guitar Lessons

“Providing students with the skills they need to enjoy music throughout their lives.”

At Cedar Music, it is important that students learn music and not just pieces. That’s why our guitar students learn more than just chords--they learn note reading, rhythm, technique, and develop a good ear.

A regular guitar lesson is weekly, private, and lasts 30 minutes with the teacher. Students may come early or stay late to work on our wonderful computer program, which emphasizes theory concepts. Group performance classes are offered in addition to the student’s regular lessons and are optional. These performance classes will be held on Saturdays before recitals.

Guitar students have the opportunity to participate in our Music Eduaction Awards Program. This program is designed to reward hard work. Please click here for a detailed description.

Recommended Age: The youngest a child should begin guitar is age 8, because of the finger pressure required to press down the strings. Adults and older students can begin at any time, and their progress will depend on their willingness to commit to practicing.

Pricing: $330 for Fall semester (Aug-Dec), $396 for Spring semester (Jan-Jun). All lessons are paid using monthly auto pay with a debit or credit card ($66).

Times Available: Various weekday slots from 3-8 PM, Thursays and Fridays 3-6 PM. Saturday times available from 1-6 PM. Earlier times are available for early-out Wednesdays and upon request.

To Register: You may call to hold a time slot for 24 hours. To keep that spot, you must come in and register. A $15 registration fee is required for one student, or $30 for a family (two or more students).
